You know it’s funny, I’ve been on Facebook since like January 2009. I love seeing the memories pop up each day. A reminder of where I was and 9 times out of 10 I can vividly remember what I was doing/where I was etc. (I hope I never lose that!)
And only fitting that every year…my birthday and then NYE “the best is yet to come”, excited for all 2014 has to offer…2015 will be the best year yet; the list goes on. I actually said to my husband “wow, I’ve actually been like this for years”, just different degrees.
I’m not going to coin 2016 as a fail, it was a difficult year, no doubt. I lost my mom, my job (and a lot of pride that went along with it), I put the brakes on school for myself, lost a few friendships, and there were various trials and tribulations along the way also.
With all that, came growth. I’m not the same person I was a year ago, I’m better. I love with my whole self, and I’ll always be here for those that need me, without a doubt.
The page turns on 2016…and here we are, 2017. There are so many things I am excited for; so many possibilities! Anything could happen at any given moment, choose happy.
I begin 2017 with new, positive energy. We talk about resolutions…some of them being the ones we’ve discussed every year “getting healthy, losing weight” etc. Naturally those are on my list again this year, if you read my blog regularly or occasionally it’s been a huge struggle of mine for as long as I can remember. 2017 WILL be the year I reach my goals. And as funny as it sounds, I’m not fully changing my approach. It’s a mental challenge, not a physical one. I can say that over and over, it’s true and anyone who has gone through it I mean, really gone through it can attest.
I am going to continue to try new things…checking out two exciting options for training in the next week or so – will keep you posted! And speaking of…I have my training schedule on my fridge, in my face. Seriously scared about this race!
I am going to continue to be in the moment with my kids, and stress less. What’s the point?
I am going to continue to better myself, pour my cup first. Michelle used that one with me, I’ve always liked that.
I am sure there will be more in the months to come, and there’s always the little everyday things…like take my vitamins, meditation, getting to the gym, and vowing to do one load of laundry each day so it doesn’t become a mountain. 🙂
I’m excited for my new energy and what’s to come.
