Okay I’m a little late. I was all excited to share my training session, but I was completely out of commission yesterday, strep throat – ugh. I never get sick (moms can’t get sick!), but I felt absolutely terrible. Fever, aches, sore throat, sweating, chills you name it. I spent the entire day in and out of sleep on the couch (kudos to the hubs for holding the fort down!).
So…training it was Thursday, like I said I am behind. I don’t know what fueled my session but man I kicked some ass if I do say so myself. It was a balmy 92 degrees – maybe 10 degrees cooler in the garage. We have been doing the same warm up; high knees, rotating hips, jumping scissor kick, jumping side to side, high kicks, rotating arm circles, and tons of stretching.
Then the real fun begins. We started with 30 seconds of medicine ball (15 pounds) throw-downs (they get your aggression out) alternating with 30 second sessions of step-overs on the box (always leaving one foot on the box at all times); 3 sets of each. I even had a little spring at the top…which never happens! 🙂
Then Rob got the ropes out. More sets of 30 second sessions… ropes for 30 – arms together, then box for 30. This time it was a front step on the box, alternating legs. 3 sets of each 30 second spurt.
Next up, pull ups in the rings (3 sets of 10 each) alternating with declined push-ups (3 sets of 10 each).
Last but certainly far from least (I swear he saves the hardest stuff for last!), 30 seconds of mountain climbers, 30 seconds up hip thrusts, and 30 seconds holding plank; 3 sets each. Holy moly! I’m really starting to feel and see a difference. It feels pretty amazing!
So, yeah I rocked it…and I am so looking forward to another session Wednesday!
